The Museum of Art Book in Łódź – Kamienica pod Gutenbergiem invites you to the opening of Antos Sivyh’s exhibition on November 22 at 6:00 PM.
Poetry is not just words but a way of seeing reality. Antos Sivyh, artist and inventor, conveys this through his “Versingforms.” Does each poem have a visual form? When Antos transcribes poems by well-known or unknown authors, letter by letter, a unique graphic emerges. Through this calligraphy, new shapes in poetry unfold, revealing the creative potential of literature for the 21st century. He often writes in public spaces, engaging people in conversations about poetry, art, writing, and language.
Born in Minsk in 1999, Antos Sivyh is a visual artist, filmmaker, and inventor. He studied Visual Media at the European Humanities University in Vilnius (2017–2019) and has lived in Łódź since 2019 as a refugee, expanding his interdisciplinary creative practice in calligraphy, video art, documentary film, urban games, and animation.
Since 2018, Sivyh has developed Versingforms — an experimental calligraphy blending poetry and visual art. His works often engage urban spaces, exploring human connections with the environment. Active in Belarus, Lithuania, and Poland from 2015 to 2020, he also created a Belarusian-speaking community in high school to unite youth and promote Belarusian culture. While in Vilnius, he founded Vostrau, a poetry and graphics magazine. In 2019, with independent filmmakers, he created Freedrinsk Clinical Rave, a video art series offering fresh perspectives on everyday life and culture.
In 2020, he launched Lodka Production in Łódź, a video platform for his films and art projects, also producing documentaries about local businesses, foundations, and communities. His projects include Gra w Ruch, a city-based performance game in seven European cities, and documentaries like Przez Tory about Belarusian students in Łódź and 1blin, which depicts life in radiation-affected villages. In 2024, he began Outforms, a physical operating system based on handwriting, aimed at making daily and creative tasks easier and more engaging. His works have been featured in numerous festivals and group exhibitions across Europe.
